Deep Sky
Astrophotography Experience
| Gozo
Capture your own image of the universe under real-world skies.
Join a guided night under the skies of Gozo and capture a deep sky object such as a nebula, star cluster, or distant galaxy using modern smart telescopes and practical techniques.
This experience is designed to show what is realistically achievable using accessible equipment and real-world conditions, not perfect dark skies.
What You Will Experience
- A short introduction to the night sky and the chosen target
- Hands-on setup of a smart telescope system
- Live imaging as the chosen target is captured in real time
- A guided image processing session using real astrophotography data
- Applying what you have learned to your own image
- Your own finished astrophotograph to take away

How the Session Works
Once imaging begins, the telescope will collect light from the chosen target over approximately one hour.
During this time, multiple exposures are captured and combined to build up detail and reduce noise. This is a fundamental part of deep sky astrophotography.
While your data is being collected, we will work with a pre-prepared dataset to demonstrate the full image processing workflow.
You will then apply the same techniques to your own image as it develops, giving you a complete understanding of the process from capture through to final result.
Equipment and Techniques
You will be using advanced smart telescopes, including systems such as the Seestar S50 and Dwarf Mini.
These allow us to capture and stack images live, revealing colour and structure that cannot be seen with the naked eye.
We also use precision tracking techniques to follow the motion of the night sky, resulting in sharper and more detailed images.
Image Processing
You will be guided through a simple and accessible image processing workflow using real astrophotography data.
We will apply these techniques using easy-to-use tools such as Snapseed or AstroEdit. These apps are either free or cost only a few euros.
You will then apply the same steps to your own image, creating a finished result that you can take away and share.
A more refined version of your image can also be created after the session using advanced processing techniques.
